Accepting Applications for 2019 Awards, Grants
The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation, the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, is accepting applications for its 2019 awards and grants program. The application period closes February 10. The awards and grants recognize and support all practice areas and include funding opportunities for research, continuing education and program development.
“The support of the Dr. E. Neige Todhunter Memorial Doctoral Fellowship is invaluable to me,” said Kimberli Pike, a registered dietitian nutritionist and educator in Muncie, Ind., who was honored in 2018. “Working full-time while pursuing my doctoral degree is challenging, but this support makes it all possible.”
The Foundation distributed nearly $200,000 in awards and grants to 125 credentialed food and nutrition practitioners and students in 2018.
“It’s gratifying to be able to provide these awards and grants to so many deserving dietitians, dietetics technicians, registered and students at all stages of their respective careers,” said registered dietitian nutritionist and Foundation Chair Martin Yadrick. “We are so grateful to our individual, group and corporate donors who make all this possible.”
The Foundation’s awards and grants are funded by individuals, the Academy’s’ state and regional dietetic associations, dietetic practice groups and organizations, including Abbott Nutrition, McCormick Corporation, Colgate-Palmolive Company and the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
The Foundation, which is the only nonprofit dedicated exclusively to supporting nutrition and dietetics, has awarded more than $2 million in awards, grants and fellowships during the past five years.
