Winner of Save Your Kitchen 2022

Traulsen and Hobart Announce Third Winner of Save Your Kitchen 2022

Canutillo ISD from Texas to Upgrade Their Kitchen with New Traulsen and Hobart Equipment

ITW Food Equipment Group is proud to announce the third winner of the Save Your Kitchen 2022 campaign sweepstakes that took place in honor of the School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference in July.  Canutillo Independent School District based in El Paso, Texas, won by random selection, the third and largest of four sweepstakes for 2022.

This seventh iteration of the popular K-12 kitchen equipment makeover initiative kicked off in February of this year.  Save Your Kitchen provides free Traulsen and Hobart kitchen equipment to four winning sweepstake entrants in four different sweepstakes throughout the year.

The Canutillo Independent School District stands as one of the most recognized and fastest-growing school districts in the El Paso community. With a rich history, strong character, and a wealth of people willing to devote their energy and spirit to children’s education, the district is poised to reach its goal of becoming one of the premier school districts in the region, the state, and the nation.

Canutillo is an above average, public school district with just over 6,000 students in grades Pre-K -12 with a student-teacher ratio of 18 to 1.  Canutillo ISD supports and embraces diversity in a multi-cultural society. This school community thrives in a safe, engaging, inclusive learning environment and provides equitable opportunities to ensure future-ready students who are inspired to explore, learn, grow and excel.

“We serve a lot of students every day and having the right equipment makes all of the difference when it comes to providing good food,” said Canutillo ISD Director Marco Macias.  “We strive to encourage and support our students and being able to provide nutritious meals make that process much easier because they are ready to learn both physically and mentally … and they feel good about themselves.”

For its Traulsen prize choice, Canutillo selected a One-Section Traulsen Reach-In Freezer which features 24 cubic feet of storage space and advanced technology like Traulsen’s StayClear™ Condenser coil and Smart Control. The freezer will create a more smooth and more organized process for sending and receiving supplies to and from each school.

The district also selected a Centerline™ by Hobart 20 Quart Mixer (HMM20), that has the Hobart quality every kitchen wants and the essential performance it needs.  The mixer is a perfect fit for their kitchen because it can be used for multiple applications and will help make delicious, in-house items.

Canutillo also won a brand new Hobart AM16-BASX high temperature door type dishwasher that was offered as an additional prize for the July sweepstakes winner.  The AM16 features X shaped wash arms to clean tough food soils and comes standard with a Sense-A-Temp™ booster heater for consistent sanitization of ware, providing food safety confidence.

“There are so many deserving schools who enter our sweepstakes every year so we know that the need is great for new equipment that makes their jobs a little easier,” said Hailey Elting, Business Development Manager and K-12 Specialist at Traulsen. “We want to give them outstanding equipment that will help their productivity, keep food safe and satisfy hungry students.”

The sweepstakes is open to K-12 nutrition professionals in the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Among the products offered in this year’s sweepstakes are Traulsen refrigerators, a freezer and a milk cooler plus a Hobart food processor, slicer, mixer and dishwasher. Different products may be available for specific sweepstakes. The entry deadline for the fourth and final sweepstakes of the year is October 14, 2022, at 11:59 p.m.  Sweepstakes details, entry form, products and other information can be found at www.SaveYourKitchen.com.
